Guidelines for a 58 × 100 cm sheet, with 5 mm of space between each piece of artwork for cutting:

The method
The roll is 58 cm wide. Count how many designs fit side by side: (58 + 0,5) ÷ (width + 0,5), rounded down. Do the same along the length of one metre: (100 + 0,5) ÷ (height + 0,5). Multiply. For a 8 cm logo: 6 columns × 11 rows = 66. For a design that is not square, turn it a quarter turn and redo the calculation: you sometimes gain a row or a column. An A3 back (29,7 × 42 cm) fits 2 times upright, 3 times turned: our calculator tests both orientations and keeps the better one.
What changes the count
- The shape of the artwork: a round logo or a long piece of text leaves empty space in its cell, but we cannot nest tighter without complicating the cutting.
- Cutting space: 5 mm is enough for scissors; 3 mm if you cut whole rows with a guillotine.
- Mixing: on the same metre, you can place an A3 back and about thirty chest logos, the price does not change.
How much it costs
The metre is 16,67 € excl. VAT on its own (20 € incl. VAT), 13 € excl. VAT from 10 m, 11,17 € excl. VAT from 20 m, 10 € excl. VAT from 30 m and 7 € excl. VAT from 100 m. For 100 chest logos, two metres are enough: 33,33 € excl. VAT (40 € incl. VAT), i.e. 0,33 € excl. VAT per logo. For 100 A3 backs, 34 metres at the 30 m tier: 340 € excl. VAT (408 € incl. VAT), i.e. 3,40 € excl. VAT per back.
